As neighbouring county’s are usually a washed with red fields this time of year, its quite a rare sight for Devon with its conventional working landscape. Poppies seeds lay in many fields but the pesticides that farmers use annually on their crops leaves the poppies dormant for many years. As a result when a farm turns organic or the framer forgets to spray his fields, the poppies rise alongside the crops competing for the light.
